Gabriella joined DW Simpson in 2023 and is working as our Client Development Assistant. She acts as support to Clifton Frei when it comes to ensuring that client needs are met and conveyed to recruiters. Prior to working at DW Simpson, Gabriella attended Emerson College in Boston and then moved to Chicago and started working at a local animal shelter. To this day, Gabriella continues to be an animal lover who is always willing to pet sit for friends and neighbors.
What do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy doing cozy activities at home such as reading, binge watching movies, and cooking. I also love visiting wineries and I make sure to collect a glass from every winery I visit. I have even started studying wine in my spare time and have my WSET Level 1 Certification in Wine. I am hoping to work on level 2 soon.
Where did you go to school?
I attended Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. My major was Writing, Literature, and Publishing and my minor was Marketing Communications. Boston was the first major city I lived in, and it made me realize that I definitely wanted to live in that kind of environment. I did a lot of research into different cities after I graduated with my focus being on the job opportunities they presented and the cost of living. Chicago was very good in both of those areas compared to many other cities which is how I ended up here.
What do you like about your job?
I like being able to find new opportunities that could potentially lead to amazing new jobs for our candidates and more business for the company. One of the tasks I do every day is go through various job boards to find promising listings. My boss, Clifton Frei, will then reach out to the companies I have found to see if they would like assistance in their job hunt. If they do, that means that DW Simpson has gained a new connection while our candidates have a new opportunity presented to them.
What do you like about DW Simpson?
The work environment here is the best! Whenever I am asked how things at work are going, I always mention how nice everyone is. I have worked in environments before that weren’t very supportive, so working with the staff here has been like a breath of fresh air. I appreciate the thorough training I have been given and how everyone is always willing to answer any questions I have about the company or the industry.
