Virginia has been interning with DW Simpson for 4 summers and is currently attending Texas Christian University studying strategic communications with minors in data analytics and business. She is involved in the TCU Real Estate Club, TCU Economics Club, Advertising Association, American Marketing Association, and her sorority Delta Gamma as the Director of Social Awareness. Postgrad, she would like to go into finance and the business sector. We asked Virginia about her experience at DW Simpson:
How has working at DW Simpson impacted your career goals?
I think that DW Simpson has helped me gain insight into the working world and given me a tremendous opportunity to work within a professional environment. With all of the projects I have completed, I’ve gained experience in data entry, using Microsoft office, especially Excel, formatting resumes, organizing retainer fees and working on the salary survey. I believe that all of these projects have provided me the opportunity to enhance my technical skills, time management skills, and ability to work effectively remotely.
What was your favorite project as an intern?
My favorite project I have completed at DWS was the salary survey because it was interesting seeing the different salaries people made and what their jobs are, their qualifications, etc… I also loved working on the social media team, posting jobs on LinkedIn and Facebook, because I could add my own personal touch on each post!
What is your favorite thing about working at DWS?
What I like about DWS is the people. Every person is so friendly and welcoming. They are so uplifting and helpful, even when I ask a million questions! Everyone also takes pride in their work and it shows during their weekly meetings, when they place a candidate, and so forth.
What do you do for fun when you are not working?
For fun, I love to hang out with friends, exercise, go on walks all over downtown, eat at new restaurants and travel!
