Modeling Actuary, Life (California #49175)



California Life insurer is in search for a student actuary with 1 – 3 years of actuarial experience and at least 3 exams passed towards the ASA designation. The ideal individual would be familiar with variable annuities with guaranteed benefits and/or GAAP and Statutory valuation for variable annuities. Must be well organized, possess excellent communications skills, and be able to work both independently and in a team environment. Excel and VBA is required, MoSes and other actuarial modeling software is a plus. (#49175)

The ideal individual would have solid communication skills, advanced Excel & SQL skills, and the ability to solve highly complex problems. This individual should be familiar with new accounting standards and actuarial modeling with either AXIS or Prophet as well as some experience with R, SAS, and Python. Candidate must be able to develop/sustain extensive client relationships, prepare and present complex material, and demonstrate overall leadership. The ideal candidate would have a background in mortality and lapse studies, reinsurance pricing, and working with large data-sets. Candidate must be able to develop and maintain financial projection models for Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Kansas based consulting client has a great opportunity for a FSA with 10-15 years of actuarial experience in the life and annuity area, including some consulting experience. The ideal candidate would be team orientated, possess excellent communication, and strong modeling and Excel skills. This individual would be responsible for managing a variety of actuarial projects, working directly with clients, working with the actuarial support team for completing projects in a timely manner, and managing direct reports, actuarial analysts and technicians. This position is meant to lead to eventual partnership. Salary $165-175K. (#49104)
