The IL Actuarial Job Market is primarily located in Chicago, with some actuarial employers in smaller towns like Lombard, Schaumburg, Rock Island & Buffalo Grove. While the Property & Casualty actuarial market is the largest in IL, Health is not far behind. There is also a solid Life business that accounts for 22% of actuarial jobs, while Pension firms account for less than 6% of the actuarial jobs in Illinois. The majority of jobs are at the ACAS / ASA & FCAS / FSA level, however, Illinois does have a strong entry level actuarial market, which continues to grow thanks to Actuarial Science programs at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Loyola, DePaul and others.

In demand skills include Catastrophe Modeling, Claims, Forecasting, Risk Assessment, Software / Programming, Economic Capital, Ratemaking, Pricing, Reserving, ACA, Medicaid and other Health / P&C related experience.

Actuarial Analyst, P&C (Colorado or Illinois #49749)
