Claude Penland joined DW Simpson Global Actuarial Recruitment in 1999. Prior to joining DW Simpson, Claude spent eight years as a casualty actuary with CIGNA, AIG and Milliman. Claude earned his bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics, with a concentration in economics, in 1990 from Johns Hopkins University, and was designated an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society in 1995. He is also an associate member of the Actuarial Society of Hong Kong. He was interviewed for the Casualty Actuarial Society's Future Fellows, the Society of Actuaries' The Future Actuary (and again in 2008) and was also a part of BeAnActuary.org's "Ask An Actuary" feature. He also regularly contributes to US and international periodicals on actuarial recruitment issues. Claude compiles and edits the Actuary.NET international actuarial news blog. Outside of the office, Claude coaches baseball, soccer and basketball. His book, Roundtripper, was profiled in the Casualty Actuarial Society's Actuarial Review. He believes next year is finally the year the Philadelphia Eagles will win the Super Bowl. |
