Patty co-founded D.W. Simpson & Company with her late husband, David W. Simpson, in 1989. She joined forces with Dave to establish the focus of the firm solely to Actuarial Recruiting from general insurance recruitment. As the Managing Partner for close to 20 years, Patty has managed and trained the staff of recruiters and researchers, which numbers over 60 across the globe today. Patty's current role focuses on strategic operations for DW Simpson Global Actuarial Recruitment.

In addition, Patty over the years has made presentations on a variety of topics at both Society of Actuaries and Casualty Actuarial Society meetings. She has also been featured in many Actuarial Digest roundtable discussions and other trade publications.

Patty graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Business from the University of Minnesota. Her first role out of college was as an Options Stock Clerk on the floor of the Chicago Board of Options exchange with the investment banking firm of Drexel Burnham & Lambert on the Chicago Board of Options exchange. Prior to joining DW Simpson, Patty spent two years at a general insurance recruiting firm in Chicago.

Outside the office, Patty serves on a number of boards, including the Woman's Boards of The Joffrey Ballet and The Alliance Francais, and have served on Committees of both the Woman's Athletic Club of Chicago and The Joffrey Ballet. In addition, Patty serves as Vice Chairman and Volunteer Officer for "Fueled By The Fallen," a 501-C3 service organization that aids Military Members, Public Safety Personnel and their families in dealing with their emotional, physical and financial recovery needs. Patty also studied and performed with Tracy von de Haar Dance troupe and studied with Lou Conti's Hubbard Street Dance Company.

Patty and Dave's three children, all girls, attend The Lycée Français de Chicago.
